It started very strange . . .

In 1995 my mother-in-law (named Gnatzig) got 2 calls from a woman who spoke only English. Since she doesn’t know the language, she hung up. She was irritated because the woman introduced herself as a Gnatzig. She told me about it, but I didn’t pay any attention to it at the time. A couple of months later, she received a letter from Reedsburg/Wisconsin from a Lee Gnatzig who was asking about some people with the same name. My mother-in-law was crazy about the letter, because she thought it was a joke. We told her to bring the letter over, so we could read it. We intended to reply, but as a friend from Reedsburg used to say, "I always say, it is like it is!" and we didn’t answer. After quite some time, we got the letter back and finally decided to answer. To make a long story short, one day we got a call from a guy in our town we didn’t know and he told us that he received an e-mail from the States for us. (We didn’t have internet access at the time). He sent it to us and we asked a neighbor to use his e-mail to reply. After learning how easy it was to contact others by e-mail, we bought our own internet access. In March 1996 we sent our first e-mail to America (Reedsburg/Wisconsin) which began a great adventure for both families…..Why??????
